Tony Kaye Trio

The Tony Kaye Trio original sound explores Texas Blues, one chord Hillcountry blues vamps, and improvisational expressions. The band’s 2014 release, “Boredom is the Devil’s Tool,” won Blues Recording of the Year at the 2015 Edmonton Music Awards. Guitarist and songwriter Tony Kaye plays by feel, in the moment, and brings an authenticity to the guitar that listeners connect with on a spiritual level. The band’s drummer, Laurent Boucher, is accomplished in a broad variety of styles: from Country to Jazz, Rock, Latin, and World Percussion. He has performed with Valdy (folk), Salso Mochado (Brazillian), and Phil Dwyer (jazz), among others. On bass, Lloyd Tomczak has played the Blues throughout his musical career, performing with a long list of touring electric ‘Chicago Blues’ artists at festivals and clubs and local based players.
